Faith in Action

Serving God by Serving others

unloading truck.jpg

At Redeemer, faith is more than something we believe—it is something we practice.

Our worship sends us into the world to love our neighbors, care for creation, seek justice, and share God's abundance with others. We believe that every act of compassion, no matter how small, becomes part of God's work of healing and renewal.

Through Shepherd's Table, we provide meals and food assistance to our neighbors each week. Through our Community Garden, we cultivate both food and community. We partner with local organizations, support ministries that foster dignity and belonging, and work to ensure that every person knows they are valued and loved.

We do not serve because we have all the answers. We serve because we have experienced God's grace and believe that grace is meant to be shared.

As our parish continues to grow, so does our commitment to serving Shelby and the surrounding community. We are always looking for new ways to participate in God's mission of hope, compassion, and reconciliation.

At Redeemer, we are growing in faith, community, and service—and we invite you to join us.

SHEPHERD'S TABLE

Shepherd's Table

Sharing Food, Building Community
Hot Meal | 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Food Pantry | 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.

Shepherd's Table is one of the ways Redeemer seeks to embody Christ's love in our community. Each week, neighbors gather on our campus for a hot meal and access to our food pantry. What began as a simple act of hospitality has grown into a ministry that serves hundreds of individuals and families throughout Shelby and the surrounding area.

We believe that everyone deserves access to nourishing food, compassionate care, and a welcoming community. Whether someone comes for a meal, groceries, conversation, or simply a friendly face, they are greeted with dignity and respect. This ministry is made possible through the generosity of parishioners, community partners, local businesses, schools, civic organizations, and countless volunteers who share a common commitment to caring for our neighbors.

At Shepherd's Table, we are reminded week after week that God's abundance is greater than our scarcity. Together, we discover that when a community gathers around a table, lives are nourished, relationships are formed, and hope is renewed.

Community Garden

Cultivating Food, Beauty, and Connection

Our Community Garden is a place where faith, creation, and community come together. Located on the grounds of Redeemer, the garden provides space for individuals, families, and community organizations to grow vegetables, flowers, and friendships. Some come with years of gardening experience. Others are planting their first seeds. All are welcome.

We believe gardens teach us something about the spiritual life. They invite patience, nurture hope, and remind us that growth often happens quietly and over time. They also create opportunities for neighbors to learn from one another, share resources, and enjoy the gifts of God's creation.

Garden plots are available at no cost to individuals and organizations who may not otherwise have access to gardening space. In return, we ask participants to help steward the garden with care and respect for the benefit of the entire community.

Whether you are an experienced gardener or simply curious about growing something new, we invite you to join us. To learn more about reserving a garden plot, please contact Rev. Anita.

COMMUNITY GARDEN

Sacred Craft

First Saturday | Monthly | 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Sacred Craft is a group for crafters to use their talents to support our community and our parish. We have ongoing projects for knitting/crocheting, prayer beads, and other various craft projects throughout the year.

Everyone is welcome to come hang out, and either work on a project or not. Several of our members just sit and chat, and we love that! No craft skills are needed, and no age requirements either - our youngest member is 6 years old. No sign up necessary, just show up!

Current projects include prayer shawls, knitted & crocheted hats, and Anglican prayer beads.

REACH

Recreational Experiential Academic Co-op for Homeschoolers
Fridays | 9:30 - 11:00 a.m.

R.E.A.C.H. at Redeemer (Recreational Experiential Academic Co-op for

Homeschoolers) is an inclusive, eclectic, non-religious homeschool co-op. Our

purpose is to provide a welcoming, safe space for homeschooling families

to come together to have fun, explore, and learn through play and

experience. All are welcome, regardless of background or beliefs. We want

to inspire an independent desire for learning in our children through

curiosity, experiential learning, and plenty of free play and outdoor time.

We meet year round at the church on Friday mornings for a short activity, playtime, and socialization. Park near the church office (on Martin St.) and look for our sign in the breezeway.

We take turns leading different activities each week. Participants can sign

up in BAND to lead an activity which leads to learning through experience

& play, focused on aspects such as science, social studies, STEAM, sensory

play, etc.

There is no charge to join R.E.A.C.H., though parents/guardians are

expected to stay on site and participate/help as needed and able.

Donations to cover supply and utility costs each month are accepted and

appreciated, though not required. (Suggestion is $5/month) A link to

donate can be found in the group's featured posts.
